About Us

The Family:

BnHBees started as a hobby of Ryans. As do most of our ventures, but this time the whole family has got involved, and this is how our journey began.

BnHBees - short for Bo and Hat Bees, is the namesake of our Children (respectively named Bodhi and Hattie). They are joining us as we embrace our backyard beekeeping and wanted to bring you along on our journey and share our experiences (the good, the great, and the not so great) as well as the fruits of our labors.

Ryan initially dreamed up this idea, followed by construction, then slowly bees and other items began showing up and it all came together. We document all steps of backyard beekeeping from startup, sustaining, re-queening, all 4 seasons and what they bring, harvesting (honey and wax), etc... in hopes to spread the word and have more people join our journey with us, either near or far.

We curated our own mini habitat in our backyard which is fun, sustainable, and eco-friendly. Join us in the adventure; we hope you enjoy and learn some fun facts.

The Bees:

Who doesn't love bees…

Well, a lot of people actually. Prior to our involvement with Bees, we were also leery of the creatures but now after so much close quarter interactions we have grown to love and appreciate them.

Bees may be one of the most important creatures to our ecosphere. Only a little knowledge is openly shared to educate us about their critical role so we would love to pass along what we have learned about these amazing self-sustaining producers.

Stay tuned for more about each of our hives:

Mahalo - Hawaiian Queen

Guida - Italian Queen

Nonna - Italian Queen

Feel free to ask us anything you would love to see or know about and we would be more than happy to share.
